Unexpected.

Chai latte, half gone is in a mug on a steel table with art in the background.

Hanging my art in a cafe for two months didn't turn out how I expected.

What I expected:

  • No one would care except me.

  • No one would really look at the art I hung up.

  • The two months would come and go with just a mark on my CV to show for it.

The reality:

  • I sold the most art from one consecutive event to date.

  • I had friends drive to go see my art hanging up.

  • When I was putting art up and taking it down I had cafe-goers excited to tell me which illustration looked like which of their friends and which pieces were their favorites.

  • I felt energized and appreciated by the Logan, UT community.

The takeaways:

  • Don't sell yourself short, people are rooting for you.

  • Imposter syndrome doesn't have to hold you back, do the work.

  • You're ready.

You can see the pieces that were on display HERE.
